The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election schedule has been officially released, with voting set for 9 September 2025

The announcement was made by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Jasim Uddin, Chief Returning Officer, during a press conference at DU’s Senate Building on Tuesday.

According to the timeline: The draft voter list will be published on 30 July, followed by the final voter list on 12 August. Nomination papers can be submitted between 12–19 August.

Nomination papers will be scrutinised on August 20, and the preliminary list of candidates will be announced on August 21.
The last date to withdraw nominations is August 25. The final list of candidates will be published at 4PM on August 26.

For the first time in DUCSU history, voting will be held at six central polling centres outside residential halls

These arrangements follow a DU Syndicate decision to finalize the election timetable and ensure transparency, with voting expected in the second week of September approximately 40–45 days after the schedule launch.

Students from the 2019–20 academic session up to the current study year are eligible to stand as candidates and to vote in the DUCSU election. The most recent DUCSU election was previously held in 2019.
