Dhaka University Club has announced its new executive committee for the 2025–26 session, comprising members from both the pro-BNP White Panel and the pro-Awami League Blue Panel. The 15-member committee includes seven teachers from each group.

The committee was declared on Monday night by Professor Siddiqur Rahman Khan, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and the election commissioner. He said only one panel was submitted, and it was announced as elected.

Professor Kamrul Ahsan of the Chemistry Department, a White Panel teacher and two-time elected Teachers’ Association member, was made secretary. The president post went to a White Panel representative.

Dr Rezaul Karim, a Blue Panel teacher from the History Department, was made vice-president. Dr Radh Mujib Lalon, also from the Blue Panel, was appointed joint secretary. Other members include Dr Khaled Mahmud (IBA), Jahangir Hossain (Crafts Department), and Professor Javeed Iqbal Bangali, a former Jubo League central committee member.

Several teachers including Professor Morshed Hasan Khan (White Panel) and Professor Md Amzad (Blue Panel) were involved in forming the panel through joint meetings.

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Saima Haque Bidisha and Treasurer Professor M Jahangir Alam Chowdhury were present during the announcement.

Some teachers have criticised the inclusion of individuals accused of siding with authoritarian elements. Professor Siddiqur said there was an understanding to exclude such names, but declined to comment further.

Repeated calls to White Panel convener Professor Morshed Hasan Khan went unanswered.
