Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Azaz announced on Sunday that anyone found putting up posters indiscriminately in the city will be fined at commercial rates.
“No one will be allowed to post posters outside the designated areas marked by the corporation,” he said.
Azaz made the remarks while inaugurating new billboards at the Agargaon Taltola bus stand. Ten new billboards were installed, and 15 existing boards were renovated.
He said more billboards will be set up across all wards, at major intersections, educational institutions, and cultural centres in phases.
The administrator noted that DNCC has already fixed specific locations for posters to preserve the city’s appearance and improve public convenience. He added that commercial and political posters can be displayed on the designated billboards without any fees and called for citizens’ cooperation in maintaining the system.
Chief Engineer of DNCC Brigadier General Moin Uddin was also present at the event.
