With regards to those who had lost their lives in Monday’s aircraft crash in Uttara, authorities will soon hand over the bodies which are easily identifiable to their families, while DNA tests will be conducted for the others, according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.

“The bodies of those who can be identified among the death victims of the Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft crash on the Milestone School and College compound in the capital’s Diabari area will be handed over to their families immediately,” the CA’s Press Wing said. “The bodies of those who cannot be identified right away will be handed over to their families following the confirmation of their identification through DNA tests.”

It also said that Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus is closely monitoring the treatment of those injured in the tragic incident.

For the sake of ensuring uninterrupted medical care, general people have been requested not to crowd hospital areas unnecessarily.

Earlier, a Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) F-7 BGI training aircraft crashed into the Milestone School and College campus at around 1:18pm on Monday, leaving at least 19 people dead and many others injured.

The government has announced that Tuesday would be observed as a day of national mourning following the tragic air crash.
