The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has imposed a ban on public gatherings, processions, public meetings, and rallies in the areas surrounding the chief adviser’s official residence Jamuna and the Bangladesh Secretariat, effective from Saturday until further notice.

In a notice issued by DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, the restriction has been imposed under Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance, 1976, to ensure the security of the Chief Adviser.

The ban also covers key locations, including the Hotel Intercontinental intersection, the Kakrail Mosque intersection, the Officers’ Club intersection, and Minto Road, among others.

Earlier, on August 26, DMP issued a similar public notice banning all types of meetings, assemblies, processions, rallies and demonstrations in the areas surrounding the secretariat and the official residence of the Chief Advisor.
