DMA-DIU Tech Center opens to boost industry-academia collaboration

Daffodil International University has inaugurated the DMA-DIU Tech Center to familiarise Computer Science and Engineering students with evolving technology trends and enhance practical education quality.

The centre, located at the university’s Innovation Lab, was inaugurated on Monday by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr M R Kabir. The inauguration ceremony was also addressed virtually by Board of Trustees Chairman Dr Md Sabur Khan and DMA Chairman Mahabub Zaman, according to a press release.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Md Sabur Khan said the centre “will serve as a milestone in building bridges between industry and academia” by allowing students to practise IoT, automation, PCP design, SMP and manufacturing processes.

“Through this, they will be able to prepare themselves for the local and international job markets,” he said, urging students to make proper use of the opportunity to help build a Smart Bangladesh.

The programme was chaired by Department Head Professor Dr Sheikh Rashed Haider Noor and attended by DMA Managing Director Hasan Rahman, Rahim Afroz CEO Kamrul Islam, Intellier Advisor Md Shafiqul Islam, Acting Dean of Faculty of Science and Information Technology Professor Dr Bimal Chandra Das, and Associate Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department Professor Dr Aminul Islam.

Guests inaugurated the centre by cutting a ribbon and cake, before inspecting the various facilities. Hasan Rahman, Kamrul Islam and Md Shafiqul Islam also joined Dr M R Kabir during the formal opening, the release said.
