One more person has died of dengue while 325 new patients have been hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest fatality was reported from Dhaka South City Corporation. This brings the total number of dengue-related deaths this year to 104.
Among the new patients, 70 were admitted to the hospitals of Barishal division, 38 in Chattogram division, 49 Dhaka division (Outsides of city corporations) , 41 from Dhaka North City Corporation, 48 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the same period, 297 patients were discharged from hospitals, raising the total number of recoveries this year to 23,930.
As of August 13, the total number of reported dengue cases in 2025 stands at 25,324, with 58.9 per cent of patients’ male and 41.1 per cent female.
Last year, Bangladesh recorded 101,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths. The previous year, 2023, marked the worst dengue outbreak in the country’s history, with 321,179 cases and 1,705 deaths.
