Three more patients died in deadly dengue across the country in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, raising the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 65 this year.
All three deaths were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
What is more, a total of 444 dengue patients were hospitalised during the 24 hours period, it added. With the new cases, the total number of cases rose to 18,026 countrywide.
A total of 16,629 dengue patients has been discharged from hospitals and some 1,332 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.
The majority of these new cases are concentrated in Dhaka South City Corporation, Barisal Division, and Chattogram Division.
Other regions, including Khulna, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Rangpur, and Sylhet, have also reported new admissions, indicating the widespread nature of the outbreak.
Since the beginning of the year, 16,629 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals. Currently, 1,332 patients are receiving treatment across the country, with 952 cases reported outside Dhaka.
Health authorities continue to monitor the situation closely and urge the public to take preventive measures to control the spread of the disease.
