Three more dengue-related deaths were reported in the past 24 hours till Tuesday morning, pushing the country’s death toll to 89 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest fatalities were reported from Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and outside city corporation areas of Chattogram Division.
During the same period, 319 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in 2024 to 22,384.
Of the new cases, 62 were reported in DSCC, 27 in Dhaka North City Corporation, and 58 in Dhaka Division (outside city corporations). Barishal (72), Chattogram (49), Khulna (36), Mymensingh (11), and Rangpur (4) divisions also saw new admissions outside city corporation areas.
As of Tuesday morning, 1,259 dengue patients remained under treatment in various hospitals nationwide.
Last year, Bangladesh recorded 575 dengue deaths and over 101,000 confirmed cases, with 100,040 recoveries.
