Health authorities reported 364 new dengue cases and two deaths in the past 24 hours, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said on Saturday.
Of the new patients, 49 were admitted in Barisal division, 76 in Chattogram, 50 in Dhaka division outside the capital, 58 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 73 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 20 in Mymensingh, and 38 in Khulna division.
According to DGHS, dengue has so far infected 3,33,831 people across the country this year, with the death toll reaching 132, including the two latest fatalities.
In comparison, the mosquito-borne disease claimed 575 lives and infected 1,01,214 people nationwide last year, making this year’s outbreak significantly more severe.
