Community Bank launches electronic traffic fine collection in Khulna

In a major step to modernise traffic fine collection, Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) in collaboration with Community Bank Bangladesh PLC launched an electronic traffic fine collection system on July 14, 2025.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Khulna Club.

The new system aims to simplify and streamline the payment process for traffic fines in Khulna. The agreement to implement the system was signed between KMP and Community Bank. Mr. Abu Rayhan Muhammad Saleh, Additional Commissioner of KMP, and Mr. Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, formalized the collaboration.

In his address, Mr. Saleh, the Chief Guest of the event, expressed optimism about the partnership, emphasizing its role in promoting transparency and improving the efficiency of traffic fine collection. The event also saw the formal launch of the “E-Traffic Prosecution and Fine Collection” system, a key initiative to digitize traffic-related services, making them more accessible to the public.

The ceremony was attended by several KMP officials, including Mr. Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan, Additional Commissioner, KMP, Mr. Shudarshan Kumar Ray, DC (Traffic), KMP, and other senior officials from KMP.

From Community Bank, Mr. Md. Mamun ur Rahman, Head of ADC & MD’s Coordination Team, and Mr. Md. Roqonuzzaman, SAVP and Branch Manager of Khulna Branch, participated in the event along with employees from the Khulna Branch and other senior officials.

The introduction of the digital traffic fine collection system is seen as an important move towards modernizing traffic law enforcement in Khulna, and the initiative is expected to be a model for other regions in the country to follow.
