Religious Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain has said a committee will be formed with the representatives from both factions of the Tabligh Jamaat to address ongoing disputes.

He shared this information during a press briefing following a meeting with representatives from the two parties at the adviser’s office at the Secretariat on Wednesday.

The meeting, aimed at resolving tensions between the factions, was also attended by Home Adviser Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, special assistant to the chief adviser in the Home Ministry.

The committee will be led by an additional secretary and will include representatives from both factions of the Tabligh Jamaat, said AFM Khalid.

He expressed hope that the formation of this committee would pave the way for an agreement between the two factions and put an end to the conflict. “Through this committee, we aim to close the path of conflict moving forward,” he said.

The adviser further explained that top representatives from both Tabligh groups attended the meeting, which was conducted in a cordial and constructive atmosphere.

“While there are problems between the two groups, we are trying to bring their differences to a manageable level,” AFM Khalid added.
