Cloudy skies with rain likely in Dhaka and other regions

Sky over Dhaka and surrounding areas may remain partly cloudy  from 7 am for the next six hours, according to the met office. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain during this period.

In its forecast published Monday morning, the met office said winds may blow from the south or southeast at 10 to 15 km/h. Day temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged. 

At 6 am today, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 27°C with 87% humidity. Over the past 24 hours, 2 mm of rainfall was recorded in the capital. The minimum temperature during this period was 26.7°C and the maximum was 31.8°C.

A special weather alert has also been issued for inland river ports. Strong gusty or squally winds at speeds of 45–60 km/h may sweep over Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar regions, accompanied by rain or thunderstorms. River ports in these areas have been advised to hoist cautionary signal number 1, and boats have been advised to navigate carefully.

Another forecast issued Sunday night said that rainfall is likely across most parts of the country, with heavy to very heavy rain expected in places over Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions.

By 6 pm today, most areas in Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions, and many areas in Rangpur, Rajshahi, and Dhaka divisions may experience temporary gusty winds with light to moderate rain or thunderstorms.
