Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed has emphasized the relevance of the teachings of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) in promoting freedom, equality, and justice in today’s world.
In a message issued on the occasion of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the birth and death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Chief Justice said that the Prophet’s message of justice transcends all boundaries and is a fundamental right for all of humanity, reports BSS.
“The Prophet taught us that justice is not confined to a particular group of people; rather, it is a universal right for all humankind,” Dr. Ahmed said.
The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, observed annually to commemorate the day of the birth and death of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), will be celebrated across Bangladesh tomorrow with due religious solemnity. This day holds immense significance for peace-loving people, including the global Muslim community.
“The teachings and ideology of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are applicable not only to our religious lives but also to our everyday lives,” Dr. Ahmed added.
The Chief Justice praised the Prophet as a great human being, a guide to humanity endowed with qualities such as generosity, tolerance, honesty, and devotion. “The great examples set by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for the liberation of humanity, the establishment of equality, and the promotion of justice remain highly relevant to us today,” he said.
He highlighted the Prophet’s emphasis on impartiality, courage, and moral integrity in matters of justice, stressing that the influence of social status, wealth, or power should not affect the delivery of justice. “The same law and justice must be ensured for all,” Dr. Ahmed said.
The Chief Justice also pointed out that upholding the ideal of justice is not only a professional responsibility for members of the legal profession but also a moral obligation. “We must strive to ensure justice for everyone, irrespective of their background,” he added.
Dr. Ahmed underscored the importance of communal harmony and mutual respect, referring to the Prophet’s example of unity through the Charter of Medina. “Bangladesh, with its rich diversity of religions, languages, and cultures, should embrace the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) in building a peaceful and prosperous society,” he said.
On this auspicious day, the Chief Justice urged all citizens to uphold the humanitarian values and ideals of justice advocated by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and work to eradicate discrimination, injustice, and hatred. “Let us make collective efforts from our respective positions to establish social justice,” he concluded.
