Chittagong University awards DLitt to Chief Adviser

Chittagong University (CU) has awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters (DLitt) degree to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus in recognition of his outstanding contributions to poverty alleviation through microcredit and establishing global peace.

According to state news agency BSS, the degree was conferred during the university’s fifth convocation held Wednesday afternoon at its central playground.

CU Vice-Chancellor Professor Yahya Akhter presented the DLitt certificate to Yunus on behalf of the university. The ceremony was attended by Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Mohammad Shameem Uddin Khan and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md Kamal Uddin.
