A case has been filed against three former chairmen and one secretary of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) for allegedly harassing BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

On Sunday, after a hearing, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ziadur Rahman issued an order and directed CID to investigate into the matter. BNP Joint Secretary General Harunur Rashid filed the case, confirmed by his lawyer Hossain Ali Khan Hasan.

The accused include former ACC chairmen Hasan Mashhud Chowdhury, Mohammad Habibur Rahman, Abul Hasan Manzur, and former secretary Mokhlesur Rahman.

The complaint alleges that former ACC officials filed “politically motivated false cases” to harass Khaleda Zia.

Lawyer Mohammad Hossain Ali Khan Hasan stated, “This was an abuse of state power to politically harass opponents, which is unlawful.”
