Entertainment Desk [Sub-Editor / Reporter]
Lover of cinema, music, pop culture, art and culture? We want YOU!
*About TIMES of Bangladesh* TIMES of Bangladesh is an independent English-language news outlet covering Bangladesh and the world across print, digital, and multimedia formats. Guided by our tagline, *“Window to the World,”* we are committed to accurate, independent, and engaging journalism. We are building a modern newsroom where creativity, technology, and responsible storytelling work together.
We want curious, creative, and responsible people who see digital journalism as more than just making news stories — and who can contribute carefully to a fast-paced multimedia newsroom.
Lover of cinema, music, pop culture, art and culture? We want YOU!
Turn news, information, and ideas into engaging digital content.
This is more than just a technical editing job. We want someone who understands storytelling, timing, audience engagement, and newsroom needs.
You should be confident using Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or another professional editing platform. You should also have:
Thumbnail creation skills in Photoshop and Illustrator are a plus. Experience of working in a newsroom or digital media environment is highly preferred.
If you can also record voice-overs, present content, develop story ideas, write or improve scripts, or independently identify digital stories, we would be highly interested in hearing from you. Portfolio/showreel is strongly encouraged.
For us, uploading a video is not just clicking “Publish.”
We are looking for someone who understands how journalism should be packaged, checked, and presented before it reaches an audience.
You will help manage and publish Daily Times of Bangladesh content across platforms, including Facebook and YouTube. Your work will include:
We care more about accuracy than speed, but you still need to be comfortable with newsroom deadlines. Basic graphic design skills, good editorial judgment, fact-checking ability, and experience with social media data will be a plus.
The job is more than just fixing text.
We want multimedia sub-editors who can work in journalism, production, and creative teamwork. You should be able to take information or a breaking news story and think: what is the story here? How should we tell it? What does the audience need to know?
We are particularly interested in people who are curious, organized, editorially alert, and able to work with clarity under pressure. Experience in journalism, digital media, research, video production, or content development will be an advantage.
A good presenter does more than read from a teleprompter.
We are looking for people who can communicate naturally, understand what they are saying, and connect with an audience.
Candidates capable of presenting in both Bangla and English will be highly preferred. Being stronger in one language and less comfortable in the other will not automatically be a disadvantage — we care more about your communication ability, confidence, and potential.
Experience in news presentation, television, online video, radio, podcasting, theatre, debate, or public speaking may be useful, but talented newcomers are also welcome. A presentation reel or sample video is encouraged.
You might already have newsroom experience, or be looking for your first real chance in digital journalism. We welcome applicants from non-traditional backgrounds too, including those who learned their skills outside formal journalism jobs.
About stories, audiences, and how digital journalism actually works.
Shows up, meets deadlines, and can be trusted with a live story.
Brings ideas and visual instinct, not just technical execution.
Treats accuracy and audience trust as part of the job.
New graduates and beginners are encouraged to apply if they believe they have the skills, enthusiasm, and commitment needed for the job.
Times of Bangladesh is committed to fair hiring. We offer reasonable help for applicants with disabilities to make the process accessible and supportive — if you need any special assistance during the application or interview process, please let us know.
We welcome applicants of all genders, races, ethnicities, religions, disabilities, or other backgrounds. Hiring decisions are based on ability, suitability for the job, professional behavior, and potential to help the team.
