BNP Chairperson’s Special Assistant Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas stated that their political force’s responsibility is to build a dignified, democratic, and prosperous Bangladesh.
He made these remarks on Monday at the unveiling ceremony of a music video organised by Freedom Artist Society and Welfare Organisation of Bangladesh (FASWOB) at the National Press Club. Later, a music video titled “Asche Tarique Bhai” (Here Comes Brother Tarique), dedicated to BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, was unveiled.
Shimul Biswas said, “We stand at the threshold of a new renaissance, united by Bangladesh’s history, culture, and politics. The strength of the nation lies in its talented people, who are working tirelessly – whether behind the scenes or at the forefront – to build the country.”
President of FASWOB, Muhin Khan said, “Artists love their country first, and only then do they personally support any political party. But under this fascist government, everyone was labeled based on their affiliations.”
He added, “Artists don’t belong to any party. We have suffered 16 years of oppression and don’t want to endure more. We reject divisions among artists.”
Among others present were BNP National Executive Committee member Salahuddin Khan, Dhaka Metropolitan South Labor Front Convener Suman Bhuiyan, vocalist Mezba Rahman of band Different Touch, and former General Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s Central Council Saif Mahmud Jewel.
