Dhallywood actress Shobnom Bubly is preparing to return to acting after a long break. She will resume filming in September with the movie Dhakaiya Devdas after stepping away from work to focus on motherhood.
Bubly stayed away from promotions and public appearances despite having several films released during Eid. After welcoming her daughter, she gave priority to her child and her own recovery. Now, she has decided to return to the big screen.
Director Zahid Hossain confirmed Bubly’s comeback with the film. He said he has discussed the schedule with the actress and she will join the shooting in September if her health allows.
Ador Azad will appear opposite Bubly in the movie. The film will explore the language, culture and lifestyle of Old Dhaka.
Ador will play a Shia young man, while Bubly will portray a Sunni young woman. Both actors will speak Urdu dialogues as part of their characters.
Zahid said the production team will start filming other scenes before Bubly joins the set, as she is currently spending time caring for her child and herself.
“Since Bubly needs time for her child and personal care, we will complete other parts of the film first. Our aim is to create a complete movie based on Old Dhaka,” he said.
Despite its commercial-sounding title, Zahid said Dhakaiya Devdas follows a different approach. He plans to take the film to international festivals first before releasing it in Bangladeshi cinemas.
