The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly pushed 14 Bangladeshi nationals into Bangladesh from India through the Dharmirhat border in Naogaon in the early hours of Friday.

The group, consisting of six women, one teenage girl, three children, and four men, was found near the Satana Para mango orchard, about 50 yards inside Bangladesh, close to border pillar 271/1-S.

A BGB patrol team, led by Havildar Rupen Chakma from the Kalupara BOP, detained the individuals at around 3 a.m. on Friday.

The detained individuals are residents from various districts, including Khulna, Jessore, and Narail. Sources say they had been living illegally in Mumbai for a long period, having entered India via the Satkhira and Benapole borders.

On August 7, the same group of 14 Bangladeshi nationals, who had been detained by the Balurghat police, were sent to Battalion-123 BSF and later illegally pushed into Bangladesh near border pillar 271/1-S. They were rescued by the BGB patrol.

Dharmirhat Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC), Md. Imam Jafar, stated that while they are aware of the situation, the BGB will hand over the detained individuals to the police for further legal action.
