BSF detains four Bangladeshis near Thakurgaon border

Members of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) detained four Bangladeshis Wednesday morning near the Jagadal border of Ranisankail upazila of Thakurgaon district early Wednesday, UNB reports.

Among the Bangladeshis were Mister, 32, Hamidul Islam, 31, and Shamim, 24. The identity of the fourth detainee could not be determined as of yet.

Border outpost sources from the area said that a BSF patrol team caught the four Bangladeshis at around 5:30am, 200 metres inside India.

Lieutenant Colonel Tanzir Ahmed, commanding officer of BGB-50, stated they were detained while trying to enter Bangladesh without valid documents. He added that they might have tried to enter India for work purposes.
