A nine-member Indian delegation, led by Border Security Force (BSF) Director-General Daljit Singh Chawdhary, has arrived in Dhaka to participate in the 56th Border Conference.
The delegation landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday afternoon.
The Indian team includes senior BSF officials along with representatives from India’s Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of External Affairs. They were welcomed at the airport by Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, Director General of BGB.
The four-day conference will officially commence on Tuesday morning at the BGB headquarters in Pilkhana and will continue till August 28.
Discussions are expected to cover issues such as border killings, smuggling, drug control, border demarcation, joint patrols, and strengthening border security between the two countries.
