Two brothers were brutally killed in Uthli village of Jibannagar upazila, Chuadanga, on Saturday morning in what police suspect was a long-standing feud.

The victims were identified as 60-year-old Minta Mia and his younger brother, 45-year-old Hamza Ali. Both were sons of the late Khude Mondol from Boromoshjidpara in Uthli village.

According to locals, the brothers had gone to Bridge Field No. 72 for agricultural work around 8am when 8–10 men armed with sticks and sharp weapons ambushed them. Witnesses said the attackers struck repeatedly, leaving both critically wounded. Villagers rushed to their aid and took them to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where Hamza died first while undergoing treatment. Minta succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

The killings spread panic across Uthli as word of the assault travelled quickly. Police were deployed to the area to prevent further unrest. Jibannagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Mamun Hossain Biswas said officers had visited the scene and launched an investigation. He added that efforts were underway to determine the motive behind the murders and identify those involved.
