Pakistan are scheduled to arrive in Bangladesh on 15 July for a three-match T20I series, with the opening game set to be played on 20 July at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. However, with just days to go, the broadcast rights for the series remain unsold.

Despite issuing a tender on 12 June, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has failed to attract any buyers for the broadcast rights of the series. The BCB had set a base price of BDT 4 crore for the rights, but according to board sources, no local television channels submitted the required security deposit by the deadline of 12pm on Tuesday, 8 July.

Officials familiar with the matter cited the high security deposit as a key reason behind the lack of interest. This is not the first time broadcasters have shown reluctance to air Bangladesh matches. Earlier in April, no TV channel came forward to broadcast the home Test series against Zimbabwe. The matches were eventually aired on state-run Bangladesh Television (BTV).

The BCB has also floated a separate tender for the media rights to all of Bangladesh’s home series up until 15 June 2027. Interested parties have until 21 August to submit bids, with the deadline for security deposits set for 24 August. The auction process is scheduled to begin on 25 August.

As things stand, the looming Pakistan series faces the prospect of limited or no live television coverage unless a late solution is found.
