Shareholders of BRAC Bank have approved a 12.5% cash dividend and a 12.5% stock dividend for 2024 at the bank’s 26th Annual General Meeting (AGM), held virtually on Thursday.
The AGM was presided over by Chairperson Meheriar M. Hasan, and attended by Vice Chairperson Faruq Mayeenuddin Ahmed and Directors Farzana Ahmed, Anita Ghazi Rahman, Chowdhury MAQ Sarwar, and Lila Rashid.
Tareq Refat Ullah Khan, Managing Director & CEO (Current Charge), expressed gratitude to shareholders for their continued trust and confidence in the bank. The meeting was moderated by Company Secretary M Mahbubur Rahman, FCS.
Shareholders were informed that the bank’s consolidated net profit rose by 73% in 2024, reaching Tk 1,432 crore, including contributions from its subsidiaries. On a standalone basis, net profit grew by 66%, totaling Tk 1,214 crore.
Chairperson Hasan commended the bank’s robust financial performance in the face of macroeconomic challenges. He noted that deposits grew by 34% and loans increased by 20% on a standalone basis during the year.
Expressing optimism about the future, he added, “We are confident that BRAC Bank will continue its strong growth trajectory in 2025 and beyond.”
