The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Governing Council has announced a conditional revenue distribution plan following a high-level meeting held on Monday to address outstanding player payments and financial matters from the 11th edition of the BPL T20.

In a significant move, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will, for the first time, distribute a portion of ticket sales revenue to BPL franchises. However, this disbursement—scheduled ahead of Eid-ul-Adha—will be strictly tied to franchise compliance with player payment obligations, particularly those involving both local and international players selected through the draft.

The council reviewed financial statements and payment records submitted by the seven participating franchises. Following verification, franchises that have cleared or partially cleared their dues will be eligible to receive funds, subject to the submission of acknowledgement receipts from players confirming payment.

Preliminary allocations are as follows:

BDT 55 lakh for each of the four franchises that reached the playoffs

BDT 45 lakh for each of the remaining three teams

The final disbursement for each team will be adjusted proportionally, based on the percentage of outstanding dues they have successfully paid.

In a further step to uphold the league’s integrity, the Governing Council has confirmed its intention to initiate legal proceedings against any franchise that continues to default on contractual payments, despite receiving multiple official notices.

This initiative reflects the BCB’s stated commitment to protect player interests, enforce contractual accountability, and ensure financial transparency across the country’s premier domestic T20 competition.

Further updates regarding disbursements and legal measures are expected in due course.
