Bomb scare suspends Biman flight

A bomb threat caused a major scare at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, leading to the suspension of the Bangladesh Biman flight from Dhaka to Kathmandu.

The Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-373 was scheduled to depart from Dhaka at 4:45 PM on Friday. The pilot of the flight was Captain Abdur Rahman. However, just before takeoff, an anonymous source issued a bomb threat. Following the warning, the airport’s security system was immediately placed on high alert.

Upon receiving the bomb threat, all passengers aboard the aircraft were safely evacuated. The airport’s Bomb Disposal Unit quickly arrived at the scene and began searching the plane. Despite the panic among the passengers, no one was harmed. The flight has been suspended until the safety of the aircraft can be fully ensured.

The spokesperson for the Executive Director of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Squadron Leader Mohammad Mahmudul Hasan Masum, confirmed that all passengers had been safely evacuated. He added that the Bomb Disposal Team is conducting a thorough search, and security personnel, law enforcement, and other agencies are working together to ensure the safety of the airport.
