Bogura Media and Cultural Society forms new executive committee

Bogura Media and Cultural Society, Dhaka (BMCS), an organisation of media and cultural professionals from Bogura residing in the capital, has announced its full executive committee for the 2025–27 term.

The announcement was made on Thursday through a statement signed by the organisation’s advisers. This follows the formation of an eight-member partial committee on 11 July. That initial panel included News 24 Special Correspondent Marufa Rahman as president, Banglavision Digital Chief Reporter Sujan Mahmud as general secretary, film actor Adnan Azad as senior vice-president, playwright Julfikar Hossain Sohag as vice-president, Global Television Chief News Editor Ferdous Mamun as vice-president, cultural personality Nazrul Islam Jony as organising secretary, Daily Karatoa Senior Reporter Ishak Asif as finance secretary, and singer Jinia Zafrin Luipa as film affairs secretary.

The newly announced members include vice-presidents KM Rashed and Anwar Hossain Jony; joint general secretaries M Aminul Islam, Khairul Basar Khokon and Golam Rabbi Sohag; assistant organising secretary Ramim Hasan; assistant finance secretary Zayed Hossain Mishu; office secretary SM Humayun Kabir; publicity secretary Jahin Talukder; publication secretary Tina Khanom; assistant publication secretary Toufiq Setu; sports secretary Mirza Samrat Reza; media affairs secretary Raju Arafat; environment affairs secretary Faizul Islam Neel; cultural secretary Ruhani Salsabil Labonno; assistant cultural secretary Masuk Rabbi; planning affairs secretary Rezwan Ul Arefin; training affairs secretary Ashraful Islam; dance and music affairs secretary Azmeri Sokal; drama affairs secretary Bhiban Badol; assistant drama affairs secretary Oishi Roy; social service secretary Azad Ahmed; human resources affairs secretary Shuvo Rahman; legal affairs secretary Advocate Nishat Tamanna Zaman; and members Momena Chowdhury, Shamim Ahsan Talukder, Rezaul Karim Reza, Swargo Touhid, Arifur Rahman Pabon and Idris Alam.

The five-member advisory panel consists of noted singer Khurshid Alam, eminent singer Kanakchapa, renowned composer and music director Moinul Islam Khan, Press Institute of Bangladesh Director General and journalist Faruq Wasif, Daily Karatoa Editor Mozammel Haque, and BNP Media Cell member and senior journalist Atikur Rahman Rumon.

Members and advisers believe the new committee will play an active role in achieving BMCS’s goals and objectives in the coming years.
