Bob Dylan has returned to the recording studio while on the road with Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival Tour, which began in May and runs until September. Ahead of his show at the Darien Lake Amphitheater in Buffalo, New York, on August 8, Dylan reportedly spent two days recording in the state.

According to a press release, he worked at White Lake Studios in Albany on August 5 and 6 with “members of his band”.

“We want every artist and guest to feel relaxed and at home,” said David Bourgeois, the studio’s CEO. “We’ve had the privilege of working with many remarkable talents over the years, but this visit was truly special. I’m incredibly proud of our team.”

No details have been revealed about what Dylan was recording.

The sessions come shortly after he announced the UK and Ireland leg of his Rough and Rowdy Ways tour, inspired by his 2020 studio album of the same name and running since November 2021.

The 10th leg of the tour took place in North America in March and April this year, featuring songs from across his back catalogue, including the first live performance of ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’ in 15 years.
