A four-member BNP delegation held talks with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on Saturday evening to discuss the country’s escalating political situation.
The meeting began at 7:35 pm at the Chief Adviser’s official residence, Jamuna, with the delegation led by BNP Standing Committee Member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain. Other members included Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed.
Earlier in the day, Amir Khosru told reporters that the discussion would focus on the current political climate, the upcoming general election, and a roadmap for restoring democratic governance.
Khosru emphasised that no formal agenda was necessary given the urgency of the situation.
When asked if the country faces a crisis following reports of the chief adviser’s potential resignation, Khosru dismissed the notion, stating that BNP does not see it as a crisis and that an elected government was the need of the hour.
