Businessman and BNP joint convenor of Gulshan Thana was shot to death by unidentified assailants in Gudaraghat area in Middle Badda area adjoining to Gulshan lake.
Officer-in-charge of Badda police station Saiful Islam said, around 10:30pm on lane 4 of Gudaraghat a person named Quamrul Ahsan Shadhon was killed by indiscriminate firing of unidentified assailants.
The OC said victim Shadhon was joint convenor of Gulshan Thana BNP and he was associated with the satellite television business. Police and witnesses said Shadhon was taken to National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease and he died even before arriving there. His body was kept in the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital. According to a CCTV footage which captured the incident, two masked assailants approached towards Shadhon and within three seconds they started indiscriminate firing. No one could resist the killers.
Police suspects internet and dish business or political conflict is behind this killing mission. Gulshan and Badda Thana police is working to apprehend the killers. More than one group of detectives are on the ground to gather further details about the crime.
