A four-member BNP delegation met with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus to address ongoing political tensions, demanding a specific roadmap for national elections by December.
The meeting took place Saturday evening at the Chief Adviser’s official residence, Jamuna. Following the discussion, BNP Standing Committee Member Khondaker Mosharraf Hossain told reporters that three key issues —reforms, judicial processes, and elections — were emphasised.
“There is no path to restoring democracy without elections,” he said. “We discussed holding an acceptable election by December and that we want a clear roadmap.”
The BNP delegation also included Standing Committee Members Abdul Moyeen Khan, Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, and Salahuddin Ahmed.
Earlier, at an event in the capital, Amir Khosru stated, “The most critical issue now is how and how quickly we can move toward elections. There’s no room for delay.”
He noted that after 16 years of public sacrifices, citizens now demand the opportunity to elect a government through votes.
