bKash, in collaboration with Bishwo Shahitto Kendro, has expanded a book-reading programme in Mymensingh and Sherpur.

This year, the programme aims to distribute 40,000 books across 330 educational institutions to foster a reading culture among students, according to a press release.

Books were handed over to students from several schools in both districts, including Mymensingh Collectorate School & College and Sherpur’s Government Girls’ High School.

The event also featured a quiz competition on contemporary topics, with 80 students receiving prizes.

Since its launch in 2014, the programme has distributed around 400,000 books, benefitting over 3.3 million students in nearly 3,000 educational institutions across the country.

The collaboration aims to encourage students to develop into enlightened individuals through the habit of reading.
