Biman Bangladesh Airlines has posted an unaudited profit of Tk937 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25, achieving a milestone in the airline’s 55-year history.

This figure is nearly double compared to Tk440 crore recorded in FY22, read a Biman press release issued Monday.

Biman authorities attributed this success to the trust and support of customers. Moreover, effective resource management, strategic planning, and continuous improvement in passenger service also have been the key reason behind the achievement.

In 1972, with an income of only Tk1.9 crore, Biman evolved into a modern and competitive airline.

In the 2024-25 fiscal year, Biman’s total income was Tk11,631.37 crore. This has made Biman the first-ever organization in the country to generate a revenue of Tk10,000 crore.

Biman’s Public Relations General Manager ABM Roushan Kabir mentioned, “While the accumulated profit stood at Tk589 crore, the previous year’s losses were also taken into account in the calculation.

The airline’s fleet consisted of 21 aircraft, 19 of which are owned by Biman. The company’s strong maintenance system and efficiency have contributed to cost savings.

Looking ahead, Biman plans to expand routes to new destinations, enhance digital transformation, and strengthen its cargo services, reads the press release.
