In a move to enhance cybersecurity and protect corporate data, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has advised employees to use Microsoft Teams instead of WhatsApp. The airline’s IT department recently issued a notification announcing this change.
The notice stated that restrictions have been imposed on WhatsApp usage to safeguard the corporate network’s cybersecurity and data protection.
Instead, employees have been encouraged to use Microsoft Teams for official communications, as it is an internationally recognised platform for secure and professional interactions.
According to the notification, employees can easily create Microsoft Teams accounts using their personal email addresses and mobile numbers. The platform offers various corporate features, including text messaging, voice and video calls, and file sharing, making daily office communication more efficient and secure.
The notice further mentioned that many renowned global organisations and government agencies have already excluded WhatsApp from official use due to its third-party nature and potential data security risks.
