The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) introduced its newly redesigned website on Saturday, June 28, with an emphasis on highlighting priority sectors identified in its FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) heatmap.

The updated platform offers streamlined access to essential investor services, policy guidelines, and an up-to-date directory of focal points across various ministries and investment-related agencies.

Alongside the website overhaul, BIDA has also introduced a refreshed version of its official logo.

Speaking about the initiative, Nahiyan Rahman Rochi, head of BIDA’s Business Department, said that international investors typically evaluate and shortlist potential investment destinations based on the information available on a country’s investment authority website.

Therefore, such platforms play a vital role in presenting investment opportunities, addressing investor queries, and showcasing a country’s competitive advantages.

“A well-organized website often shapes an investor’s initial perception—determining whether they pursue interest in a country or look elsewhere,” he said, adding that BIDA’s new site is tailored to align with every stage of the investor journey – from opportunity exploration and market assessment to implementation and ecosystem integration.

BIDA Executive Chairman (State Minister) Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun noted, “Our previous website resembled a generic government portal and was not adequately equipped to actively facilitate investment.” He said the new platform reflects BIDA’s commitment to an investor-centric service model built on clarity and strategic engagement.

BIDA is also informing strategic investors and stakeholders about the transformation, aiming to reinforce confidence in Bangladesh’s commitment to creating an investment-friendly environment.
