Police have arrested Nazrul Islam, the main accused in a case filed over the murder of a woman and her two children in Bhaluka, Mymensingh.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Operation) Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the matter.
He said that after analysing the intelligence information and technology surveillance, police arrested the accused from the Joydebpur Railway Station area of Gazipur at 5pm on Tuesday.
The accused is being brought to Bhaluka police station. The reason behind killed will be known through interrogation.
Earlier, Zahirul Islam, brother of victim Moyna Akter, filed a murder case with Bhaluka Model Police Station on Monday night.
Nazrul Islam, the younger brother of Moyna’s husband Rafiqul Islam, and two other unidentified people were accused in the case.
According to police, locals and the case report, Rafiqul Islam, son of Shultu Mia of Kirtankhola village in Maska union of Kendua upazila of Netrokona district, lived in a rented house in Bhaluka with his wife, two children and younger brother Nazrul.
He worked at Russell Spinning Mill and stayed at the factory to work the night shift.
On Monday morning, around 9am, Rafiqul came home from work and found the door locked.
Not getting any response, he broke the lock and entered the room and found his wife Moyna Akhter, 25, two children Raisa, 7, and Nirab, 2, lying with their throats slit.
On information, police went to the spot, recovered the bodies of the deceased.
