Bengal Islami Life Insurance Limited has officially launched its “Bengal OPD Rider (Outpatient Treatment)” service with a grand ceremony at the 3D Auditorium of Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in Farmgate, Dhaka. The new outpatient service, offered in collaboration with Milvik Bangladesh, a Sweden-based multinational telemedicine provider, aims to enhance healthcare access for the company’s health takaful customers.

The service was inaugurated by Bengal Islami Life’s Chairman, Mostafa Azad Chowdhury, in the presence of several key officials from the company, including Vice-Chairman Md. Amin Helaly, Chief Executive Officer M. M. Monirul Alam, and senior project heads. Representing Milvik Bangladesh at the event were Md. Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, Country Manager; Israt Mustafa, Country Lead-Product; and Riaz Mostofa, Country Lead-Finance.

The Bengal OPD Rider service will allow Bengal Islami Life’s health takaful customers to access outpatient medical consultations through audio or video calls with registered doctors from Milvik Bangladesh. The service operates 24/7, providing a hassle-free medical consultation experience for customers and their families, at no extra cost.

Under this service, customers can consult general physicians, gynecologists, pediatricians, nutritionists, and psychologists, all available through four distinct outpatient medical packages. Additionally, customers can easily raise claims by uploading their treatment bills via the Milvik app. Approved claims will be directly credited to the customer’s bKash, Rocket, or bank account, covering expenses like referral doctor’s fees, medical examinations, and prescribed medicines.

This new initiative aims to provide accessible healthcare to policyholders from the comfort of their homes, offering an innovative solution to medical consultations. Bengal Islami Life Insurance’s OPD Rider service is expected to bring a revolutionary change to the insurance sector in Bangladesh by improving the delivery of healthcare services.
