The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a series of tributes and observances to mark National Mourning Day on Tuesday, 22 July 2025, which will coincide with the second T20 international between Bangladesh and Pakistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in Dhaka.
As part of the observance, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at the SBNCS and all other BCB venues across the country.
In a show of solidarity and respect following Monday’s tragic fighter jet crash at Milestone School & College in Dhaka, the BCB has arranged for special prayers to be offered for those who lost their lives and those who were injured in the incident.
Prior to the start of Tuesday’s match, a minute’s silence will be observed at the stadium. Players and support staff from both teams, along with match officials, will wear black armbands as a mark of mourning.
Additionally, the BCB has confirmed that no music will be played at the venue throughout the match as a gesture of respect to the victims of the devastating crash.
In a statement, the BCB extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed its solidarity with the nation during this period of collective grief.
