Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially concluded the Expression of Interest (EOI) submission phase for selecting a Sports Marketing Consultancy Firm for the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 tournament.
The invitation for EOI, issued by the BCB on 10 July 2025, drew strong interest from several reputed firms with a track record in sports and event marketing. The deadline for submissions passed last week, with the following organisations confirming participation:
* Apex Sports Consulting
* IMG
* Real Impact & Absolute Legends Sports
* The IPG Group & Mind Tree Limited
* Transports Group
These submissions now mark the beginning of a new stage in the BPL’s commercial operations, as the board looks to bring in professional expertise to maximise the league’s marketing potential both at home and abroad.
BCB officials noted that the responses were in line with the board’s expectations and met the stated requirements. The board also expressed appreciation for the enthusiasm shown by international and regional players in the sports marketing space.
The BPL Governing Council will now undertake a thorough evaluation of the submitted EOIs. The shortlisting process will follow a set of pre-established criteria, including each firm’s experience, capabilities, proposed strategy and understanding of the BPL’s commercial landscape.
Once the evaluation is complete, shortlisted firms will be invited to make detailed presentations before the BPL Governing Council and submit their financial proposals. This will be a crucial phase where prospective consultants will be assessed not just on cost, but also on their creative and strategic approach to taking the BPL brand forward.
The final appointment will be made following successful negotiation and execution of a formal service agreement between the selected firm and the BCB.
With the T20 franchise league model evolving rapidly worldwide, BCB’s decision to engage a specialist consultancy is aimed at elevating the BPL’s commercial value, media reach and fan engagement. This move is part of a broader effort to make the BPL a competitive product in the global T20 circuit.
The upcoming edition of the BPL is expected to benefit directly from this professional partnership, which will cover areas such as sponsorship acquisition, brand development, media rights management, fan outreach, and event execution.
BCB hopes the selected consultancy will help unlock new opportunities for the league, bring innovative marketing strategies, and ultimately help position the BPL as a world-class T20 competition.
