The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has said it is closely monitoring the security situation in Pakistan, with two Bangladeshi players currently participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain and fast bowler Nahid Rana, who are featuring in the ongoing tournament, remain in regular contact with the BCB, which has made player safety its highest priority in light of recent developments over the past 24 hours.

BCB President Faruque Ahmed is personally overseeing the situation and has spoken directly with both PSL CEO Salman Naseer and Rishad Hossain to ensure the players are secure and reassured amid any uncertainty.

“The safety and well-being of our players remain paramount,” the board said in a statement issued on Tuesday. “We are in constant communication with the relevant parties to ensure all necessary precautions are being taken.”

The BCB is also coordinating efforts with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh High Commission in Islamabad. Both bodies have assured the BCB of the players’ security and pledged to keep the board updated should the situation change.

“We are grateful to the PCB and the High Commission for their support and cooperation,” the BCB added. “The board will continue to evaluate developments and respond accordingly.”

With increasing numbers of Bangladeshi cricketers gaining exposure in overseas franchise leagues, player safety in volatile regions remains a growing concern for cricketing authorities. The BCB’s swift and hands-on response reflects the board’s commitment to safeguarding its national talent both at home and abroad.
