The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to national team fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, permitting his participation in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for a limited period.
As per the decision taken by the BCB’s Cricket Operations Department, Mustafizur has been cleared to play in the IPL from 18 to 24 May 2025, during which he will be available for franchise commitments in India.
The decision was made following a comprehensive review of the national team’s current commitments and in consultation with the team management and selectors. The BCB remains committed to balancing player workload while also supporting participation in prestigious franchise leagues such as the IPL, which provide valuable experience and exposure to high-intensity competitive environments.
It is important to note that Mustafizur Rahman will be available for selection for Bangladesh’s first T20 International against the United Arab Emirates, scheduled to take place on 17 May 2025 in Sharjah. His availability for the remainder of the T20I series against the UAE will be determined in due course based on team requirements and strategic planning ahead of the upcoming international calendar.
The BCB places a high priority on managing player fitness, workload, and availability in the context of Bangladesh’s commitments in international cricket. While encouraging participation in global leagues that contribute to a player’s development, the Board ensures that national duties remain the foremost priority.
Mustafizur, one of Bangladesh’s most experienced and successful pace bowlers, has consistently demonstrated professionalism in balancing his international and franchise cricket responsibilities. His short-term participation in the IPL is expected to further hone his skills ahead of key upcoming assignments for the national side.
