The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formally approved the disbursement of prize money and ticket sales revenue to the seven participating franchises of the 2025 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), following an emergency meeting held on May 31, 2025.

This financial release comes after a detailed audit of each franchise’s financial standing, with a particular focus on settling outstanding franchisee fees and ensuring prompt payments to players—especially those selected through the players’ draft.

Franchisee Fee Adjustments

Before funds are released, the BCB has deducted all outstanding franchisee fees from the total amount payable to each team. The adjusted figures are as follows:

Franchise Outstanding Franchisee Fee Total Payable (BDT) Net Payable After Deduction (BDT)
Chittagong Kings 15,00,000 (including hotel and partial player dues) 1,02,25,000 87,25,000
Rangpur Riders 50,00,000 95,00,000 45,00,000
Sylhet Strikers 25,00,000 45,00,000 20,00,000
Khulna Tigers 25,00,000 1,15,00,000 90,00,000

Player Payment Disbursement

The BCB will now begin clearing outstanding dues to players, with a priority given to those selected from the local player draft. Adjusted player payment allocations are as follows:

Franchise Total Available (BDT) Draft Players’ Payment Due (BDT) Balance Remaining (BDT)
Chittagong Kings 87,25,000 52,36,500 34,88,500
Khulna Tigers 90,00,000 48,00,000 42,00,000
Durbar Rajshahi 45,00,000 54,90,000 Shortfall of 9,90,000
Sylhet Strikers 20,00,000 29,50,000 Shortfall of 9,50,000
Dhaka Capitals 45,00,000 45,00,000 NIL

In cases where the payable amount exceeds available funds—namely with Durbar Rajshahi and Sylhet Strikers—the BCB has assured proportional disbursement to players until further financial arrangements are made.

Ticket Sales Revenue Disbursement

Franchises that have cleared their financial dues have also been cleared to receive their share of ticket sales revenue and prize money. Notably:

  • Fortune Barishal has been allocated BDT 3.05 crore in prize money, of which BDT 2.5 crore has been released after adjusting for BDT 55 lakh already paid.

  • Rangpur Riders have received BDT 50 lakh, following a franchise fee deduction of BDT 45 lakh from the original BDT 95 lakh allocation.

BCB’s Statement

The BCB emphasized that this decision aims to “support financial discipline among franchises while ensuring that players, especially those selected from the draft, receive their payments without undue delay.” The board reiterated its commitment to strengthening the operational transparency of the BPL in the long term.
