Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary made general secretary of JaPa

Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary has been made as the General Secretary of the Jatiya Party by the party’s Chairman, GM Qader.

At the same time, Mohammad Mujibul Haque Chunnu has been removed from his position.

This information was disclosed in a press release issued on Monday afternoon.

It states that, under the powers granted by the constitution of the Jatiya Party, the Chairman has relieved Mohammad Mujibul Haque Chunnu from his duties as General Secretary. Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary has been appointed as the new General Secretary to fill the vacant position.

The order has already been implemented, as mentioned in the release.

Shameem Haider Patwary had been serving as a Presidium Member and Additional General Secretary of the Jatiya Party. He was also an adviser to the late Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad.

On December 19, 2017, after the death of Awami League candidate Golam Mustafa Ahmed, the Member of Parliament for Gaibandha-1, Patwary contested the by-election for the vacant seat with the Jatiya Party nomination.

He was elected as an MP on March 22, 2018. In the 11th National Parliament election on December 30, 2018, he contested again with the party’s “Lalangal” symbol and was re-elected as an MP.
