Barcelona have completed the signing of highly rated winger Roony Bardghji from Danish champions FC Copenhagen. The 19-year-old has penned a four-year deal with the Spanish giants, joining immediately ahead of the new season.

Bardghji, whose contract with Copenhagen was set to expire in December, has moved to Catalonia following an agreement between the two clubs that enables an early transfer. He is expected to link up with Hansi Flick’s first-team squad as they begin pre-season training on Monday.

Despite the official announcement coming via the club’s second team, Barça Atlètic, the Swedish youngster is set to train under Flick, who will assess his readiness during pre-season. Depending on his progress, Bardghji could either remain with the first team for the 2025-26 campaign or be loaned out to gain regular minutes.

The winger endured a setback in May 2024 when he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, which limited him to just six appearances in the latter part of the Danish Superliga season. Prior to that, Bardghji had established himself as one of Europe’s most promising young talents, scoring 10 goals in 36 appearances across the 2024-25 campaign.

In total, Bardghji made 84 senior appearances for Copenhagen, netting 15 goals. He has also represented Sweden at youth level, earning nine caps for the Under-21 national side.

Barcelona had been in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer, especially after missing out on Spain international Nico Williams, who committed his long-term future to Athletic Club until 2035. Bardghji’s arrival provides Flick with another exciting option as the club continues to rebuild for the future.
