Bangladesh maintained their unbeaten run in the SAFF U20 Women’s Championship 2025 with a commanding 3-0 victory over Bhutan at the Bashundhara Kings practice ground in Dhaka on Thursday. The win marked their fourth consecutive triumph and further cemented their place at the top of the table.
The hosts, playing with confidence and cohesion, controlled the game from start to finish. Midfielder Sree Moti Trishna Rani was the star of the show, scoring twice and leading by example. Her opener came in the 33rd minute, a calm and composed finish that broke the deadlock and put Bangladesh ahead.
Peter Butler’s side returned after the break with even greater intent. Trishna doubled the lead in the 65th minute, showcasing her sharp movement and timing. Just nine minutes later, Sapna Rani added the third goal with a stunning solo effort, slicing through Bhutan’s defence before finishing with power and precision.
The Bhutanese goalkeeper had no chance. The ball flew past her before she could react.
Bangladesh didn’t just win—they dominated. They kept possession, built from the back, and dictated the tempo throughout the match. Their short passing and pressing game left Bhutan chasing shadows. Defensively, they barely allowed any clear chances, dealing comfortably with the few counter-attacks Bhutan managed.
It was a performance full of authority and flair—one that earned applause from both the fans and the coaching staff.
With this result, Bangladesh now have 12 points from four matches and sit firmly at the summit of the group. Their dominance in front of goal, along with solid defensive organisation, makes them the standout team of the tournament so far.
The question now is not whether they can qualify—but whether they can go all the way and lift the trophy once more.
With form, confidence, and unity all working in their favour, Bangladesh are proving hard to stop. The journey continues, but for now, the signs couldn’t be more promising.
