Bangladesh is set to launch the “Bangladesh Climate Development Partnership” (BDCDP) Web Portal aimed at reviewing progress in climate finance, enhancing collaboration among stakeholders, showcasing the country’s climate leadership on the global stage, and accelerating the implementation of national climate action plans.
To finalise preparations for the launch, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change recently held a high-level consultation meeting in the capital, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The event, hosted at a hotel in Gulshan, reviewed the overall progress of the BDCDP initiative.
The Ministry issued a press release on Sunday, stating that the meeting was chaired by Additional Secretary Mohammad Navid Safiullah.
Among the key participants were Chief of the Programming Division at the Planning Commission (Additional Secretary) Musrat Meh Jabeen, Joint Secretary of the Finance Division Manzur Hossain, and members of the implementation team from the Economic Relations Division (ERD) and the Ministry of Environment.
Officials emphasised that the portal will serve as a central platform for tracking climate-related funding, coordinating efforts between government and development partners, and ensuring transparency and accountability in climate initiatives.
