Bangladesh are set to tour the United Arab Emirates later this month for a two-match T20 international series, the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed on Friday.
The matches will take place at the historic Sharjah International Cricket Stadium on 17 and 19 May, with both fixtures scheduled to begin at 7pm local time.
This short series will be the Tigers’ first bilateral T20I meeting with the UAE since their last encounter in 2022. The tour comes as part of Bangladesh’s preparations ahead of a major global tournament, with the matches expected to offer valuable competitive exposure under foreign conditions.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury welcomed the series, noting its significance in the national team’s build-up to upcoming international commitments.
“We are pleased to have this opportunity to play competitive cricket in conditions that will be similar to what we may face in the near future,” Chowdhury said. “These matches will help our players adapt and gain valuable match time ahead of a very important phase.”
The tour also reflects growing ties between the two cricketing boards, with the UAE continuing to host quality international cricket and offer visiting sides good facilities and conditions.
Further details, including squad announcements and broadcast information, are expected in the coming days.
