Bangladesh has witnessed a significant 23.97 per cent year-on-year increase in remittance inflows, with expatriate Bangladeshis sending $1.93 billion in the first 26 days of July, according to data released by Bangladesh Bank (BB).
This marks a sharp rise from the $1.56 billion recorded during the same period in 2024.
For the fiscal year 2024-25 (FY25), Bangladesh received a record-breaking $30.33 billion in remittances, setting a new all-time high for the country. This represents a 26.80 per cent increase compared to the previous fiscal year, during which the country received $23.91 billion.
The steady increase in remittance inflows highlights the growing contributions from the Bangladeshi diaspora, significantly supporting the national economy amid global financial challenges.
