A bilateral meeting between Bangladesh and Pakistan commenced at 11 AM on Sunday at the Hotel Sonargaon in Dhaka. Bangladesh’s Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain and Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar are participating in the meeting, where six agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) are expected to be signed.

This is the first bilateral meeting at the foreign minister level since the 1971 war, marking a historic milestone. During the meeting, both sides are expected to discuss various aspects of mutual relations and cooperation between the two countries.

On the first day of his visit to Bangladesh on Saturday, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a breakfast meeting with Bangladesh’s Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin. Later on Sunday morning, he met with Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain.

In the afternoon, Ishaq Dar will have a courtesy meeting with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus. In the evening, he is scheduled to visit BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia at her residence in Gulshan.

During the first day of his visit, Ishaq Dar also met separately with leaders of the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizens’ Party (NCP). These meetings focused on discussions to enhance the political and bilateral ties. Pakistan has expressed its commitment to strengthening relations between the two countries.
